You write the amount
The first field on the order offers five common amounts — $25, $50, $100, $250, $1,000. The sixth choice is called Autre montant, French for other amount, and it opens a field where you write the sum you want, anywhere from $25 to $1,000. That range is the limit, and it holds for the set amounts too.
If you would rather have a sense of scale, here is what an evening costs with us at the moment. These are not packages, and the card does not entitle anyone to any particular one of them — they are simply there to place a number.

How it works
- Choose the amount. Five common amounts, or Autre montant to write your own.
- Write the message. Three fields — To, From, and a note of up to five hundred characters, which is to say a real letter. That note is the whole difference between a gift and a bank transfer.
- Give the email address that will receive the card. Read the note below before you fill it in.
- Pay for the order, and the card goes out.
No activation fee, no service fee, nothing chipping away at the balance over time.
The email goes out immediately, not on a date you pick. There is no scheduled delivery. If you are buying now for a day still to come, put your own address in the To field: you receive the card, and you hand it over when the moment arrives. It is the simplest way, and nothing gets lost in between.

Late, and it still works. There is nothing to print at our end, nothing to ship, no lead time: the card is issued within a minute of payment.
What is left is the real question — making sure it does not read like a discount voucher. Three things help, and none of them cost anything:
- Send the card to yourself, then print it. Paper can be handed over; a forwarded email cannot. An envelope is enough.
- Write the note properly. You have five hundred characters. "Happy birthday" will not carry the moment. Three sentences will: why this house, why this person, and who you hope they take with them.
- Do not fix the date for them. The card has no deadline, and that is exactly what makes it a gift rather than an obligation. They book the table when they are ready, Wednesday through Saturday, from 5 p.m.

What the card covers
- The seasonal menu, in the dining room and at the bar — see the menu.
- Both tasting menus: Le Signature at $110 per person, Le Convivial at $230 for two. One guest can order one on their own; nothing obliges the whole table to follow.
- The cellar, presented in the dining room. It is not published online — it moves too fast.
- The private rooms: two rooms joined by French doors, set in an L, with a piano. Tables of 12, 10 and 8 in the larger one, 6 to 12 seats in the second — up to 36 guests together, or two parties at once. See private dining.
The card is not tied to a name: whoever holds it can use it, and can pass it on.
The card does not book the table. Reservations are made separately, online or at 579 365-3232, Wednesday through Saturday from 5 p.m.

Frequently asked questions
Does the card expire?
No — and that is not a house policy. In Québec, a prepaid card redeemable for a sum of money cannot carry an expiry date, and no fee may reduce its balance over time. That has been the law since 30 June 2010. A card bought for $250 will always be worth $250.
How is it delivered?
By email, immediately after payment, with your message. Nothing is sent by post. To give it later, have it sent to your own address and pass it on when the day comes.
Can it be handed over in person?
Yes: print the email — it is made for that — and put it in an envelope.
Can it be used over several visits?
Yes. Whatever is left stays on the card for next time.
Can part of the bill be paid with the card?
Yes. You settle the difference however you like, in either direction.
Is it refundable for cash?
No. It is a gift card, not a payment instrument: it is spent with us. It also never lapses, and any remaining balance stays valid until it is used.
I entered the wrong amount or the wrong address.
Write to info@maisonboire.com before the card is used and we will put it right.
Is the order form in English?
Not yet. The card itself works exactly the same, and the four fields are explained above. If you would rather not deal with a French form, write or call and we will take the order for you.
Where exactly does payment happen?
On boutique.maisonboire.com, the house's online shop. Payment itself is handled by Stripe. The button on this page takes you there.
